Rumor is that Hilda Barg will be back in the hospital in July and will be off her feet for a couple weeks. This is following her 4 week lay-up in December (including 2 weeks in ICU). This 72 year old is not healthy.

I saw Hilda Barg at the Dale City 4th of July Parade and she looked fine to me.

I heard Michael Meuneir speak on Monday. I think he comes across very professional and could be a motivating candidate with wide appeal across demographics in his district.

No Republican statewide candidate for federal or state office has won the 75th district in the last 10 years. While a Republican upset here is a remote possibility, to suggest it is one of the hottest races in the state is ridiculous.

The Democrats have only 38% of the seats, but 7 of 12 most hotly contested seats are Democratically held. Not good news for the D's

I think Tyler(D)could definitely lose. Her baggage is awfully heavy and many Democrats including current delegate Paul Councill are most likely supporting the alternative

The Barg-FRederick race is just starting to heat up... and my understanding is that this 72 year old has a lot of fight left in her...

watch for her and her young energetic staff to make waves this cycle.

Barg doesn't even have signs yet and if she is going into the hospital--how can she "make waves this cycle" as NJF said?

More rumours by anonymous people - Lets' see if Barg goes to the hospital - nothing to indicate that except posts by Frederick supporters. Even if she did go to the Hospital - she would still beat "Dead man Walking."

Anon 11:54am - The reason Frederick has his signs up already is because his benchmark poll told him he is way behind in Name ID and behind in the horse race.

Rumour also has it that Matt Lohr is also going to the hospital in July, Brian Moran is going to run for Congress against his brother, and Larry sabato is really Not Larry Sabato.

Anon 12:17:
I didn't say Frederick had signs up, I said that Barg doesn't have signs. Period. You are right, rumors are rumors, but you just started one too. The pot calling the kettle black, don't you think?

Hey ANON 12:17 - Frederick DOES have signs up. Do you think I need you to tell me what's going in that or any other race?

My point still stands - he is desperate and his polling shows him behind.

How would you know about polling in the Frederick/Barg race unless you are working on the campaign? You don't know what you are talking about. You must be Hilda's lacky.

regardless of internet rumors regarding her health (all of which are unsubstantiated)

Hilda has great name ID and is an imensely popular supervisor for about half of the district... her campaign made a wise move and set up HQ in the other half....

They are playing this race smart and abou the signs... give it time...

I met Hilda at her announcement and she is full of fight and determined to win this race...

not to mention she has the backing of the Warner people...

and the State Repubs can't stand Frederick

The rumors are true, I would suggest you call her campaign to ask yourself.

Hilda hates knocking on doors and looks for any excuse not to. This is not a rumor but a fact, ask anyone who has worked on her campaigns in the past.

Warner folks are worried about her especially after that disastrous kick-off announcement. Don't think there could have been of a worse start to a campaign in history. If you were there you know what I am talking about.

Her fundraising numbers outside of her supervisor's account and Warner $15,000 are disappointing for a high profile race.

She just updated her website for the first time since 1999 recently thanks to posts on this site.

-where's the proof in this?

At 4:14 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

There is no proof in this.

At 4:33 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Do some research into Hilda between 1999-2002 and lawsuits that were brought against her.

At 4:38 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Anon 3:39, are you suggesting that the rumors that Hilda is going to the hospital are true because she hates knocking on doors... seems a little on the weak side to me...

I think you may also want to recheck your fundraising numbers...

and also see how FRederick has been hemorraging cash in the first few quarters this year... trying to increase his Name ID throughout the District...

At 4:43 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I think Hilda even had ore cash on hand at the last reporting right around the primary...

Was she walking or riding?

and the State Repubs can't stand Frederick

I wish people that don't like me gave me as much as the GOP gives Fred.

I wasnt at the Parade....

but don;t confuse the conservative DeLay faction of the repubs with the moderates in PWCounty...

Barg was riding in a car

The 68th is a real race, what is Watts seat doing on your list?

Gear's seat is a top 10...

Please redo your list, your embrassing your self.

Rumors are true, it is because of blood clots. Ask her yourself.

At 7:53 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Anon 4:38 you can't read. The person said the rumors are true then said that Hilda is not willing to do the work needed to win a seat. Totally different points. But its good to see that her campaign staff is on this site.

The fundraising numbers were right on the money especially for a high profile race that the Governor himself has targeted.

The next filing deadline for campaign & candidate financial information is July 15, and will include expenses and receipts through June 30, 2005.

The primary challenges are over, the final slate of candidates are set for the general election; expect party members and donors to shift their focus to key races all across the Commonwealth. While we should see a bit of that shift reflected in the July 15th filing, it won't be huge since that period ends just 2 weeks post-primary.

In districts where the incumbent had no challenger in the June primary, very few folks from outside their districts have donated yet. That will change for the general election, especially if either party views the seat as vulnerable. For example and despite comments here to the contrary, I expect to see a strong push by the GOP to hold Del. Frederick's (R-52) seat.

Now I will get to the 10th district update

I love rumors posted by anonymous people. "It's a fact". Please, it's an anonymous post and the guy doesn't even back it up with anything. Didn't even try and lie with something like "close to the campaign" or "a friend of mine who lives next door..."

At 2:17 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Rumor has it Jeff Frederick wears poodles' underpants while secretly trying to ban handguns.

My sister's boyfriend's cousin's roommate knows this guy who knows this other guy who said so. It must be true. It must!

Isn't that what almost killed her in December and put her in bed for 4 weeks?
