I hope this is bigger than "flier-gate" or "Lurch-gate" or "Scarecrow-gate" or "pants-gate"

I forgot what flier gate and scarecrow gate was. Refresh my memory?

Lurch-gate and pants-gate still stick out in my mind. :)

I hate to break this scandal before NLS gets to it, but here goes. Matt Lohr was seen putting signs up in - gasp - black jeans while wearing a Skeletor mask and a VDOT traffic vest. Rumor has it he's going to announce his withdrawal from the race forthwith.

There you have it. You heard it here first. NLS managed to scoop me again.

:)

Hahaha! Good one NMR! Keep working on this blog thing and maybe you'll move up from a George Foreman grill to an Applebee's grill!

Scarecrow gate is when it was definitively proven that Michael Golden is the Scarecrow. Batman will find him. And crush him.

Flier-gate had to do with Boluva's flier.

Here it is... Matt Lohr is Russ Potts' and Leslie Byrne's love child.

Still no news?

Anymore news NLS?

Give them a break. They're fabricating as fast as their little keyboards will clatter.

I was giving a heads up it may take until the end of the week to break this story... I am working on it now.

Developing...

I will say this is a 26th district scandal that would not impact a candidate anywhere else.

. . . much ado about nothing

I just hope it's not something lame like "Matt Lohr donated to a Democrat" or "Matt Lohr paid his property tax late."

That type of thing d/n rise the scandal level.

Maybe he sodomized a sheep

Matt Lohr donating to a Democrat can't be the scandal. We already know that is true. He donated to Lowell Fulk's 2003 campaign against Glenn Weatherholtz.

is it about all the missed meetings? School Board, Planning Commission, or Massanutten Tech Meetings. You've got to give us a hint.

At 9:49 PM, Blogger Not Larry Sabato said...

No. It's an exclusive. Lohr should know what it is.

Yawn?

Democrats will do anything to stop Matt Lohr.

Because you both seem to enjoy reporting rumors instead of facts.

Friends, who are connected to Kaine's campaign, say 'not larry sabato' true identity is a dual one -- WaPo Michael Shear and RT-D Jeff Schapiro. But I don't think there's room enough on the web log for both egos.

A GOP friend can't imagine those two egos working together either. And believes it's most likely WaPo's Michael Shear. It reads more like him, but there were hints of Chris Jenkins.

For the record, I believe Chris Jenkins is a liberal idiot. Shear is Mark Warner's best boy and sycophant deluxe. Sorry, I'm being truthful, not mean.

Shear might be best known for missing the big issues because he's too focused on ferreting out the intrigue. But I have been more impressed by Chris Jenkins' reporting.

Many of us are convinced that NLS has to be a media wonk(s) somewhere based on the types of information (s)he gets from a variety of weird sources.

For the record, I am not Not Larry Sabato. I'm too thick-skinned for that.

another scandal in the 75th. 5 way primary candidate winner R. Tyler has lots of baggage and it is said that a federal indictment is on the way...What will happen?

Why are you reporting on a "rumored scandal," one you say you may be able to reveal in a few days. I just don't get your logic here. You're showing your hand, which isn't even full yet, apparently. For what purpose?

I think Fulk can win without a scandal, by the way.

At 2:06 PM, Anonymous Obenshain for Governor in '09 said...

What could Matthew Lohr possibly have done that is scandal worthy?
He preaches all the right party phrases every chance he gets. He was personally recruited by Mark Obenshain to run for this seat after John Elledge was determined to be unelectable by the party elite in Harrisonburg. (read that Mark Obenshain) Without question he is Obenshain's "boy" and will sit and bark at Mark's direction. Kate and Mark are far too saavy to run a flawed candidate as they work to take over the GOP in VA.
Obenshain is the party and everybody better get on board!

obenshain for governor......Ha.

At 7:06 PM, Blogger Politicl.Animal said...

Obenshain won't run directly for governor in '09, he'll do the Republican thing and go for Att. General.

If he keeps defending GA candidates like Todd Gilbert from lawsuits, he'll have plenty of support.

What Gilbert lawsuit?

At 9:59 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

If you want a scandal do some research into Hilda Barg and what she did in 1999. It was under reported back then and if it breaks it could tilt the race.

At 12:11 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Would that have anything to do with Hilda's anti-Catholic bias?

At 12:43 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

It has something to do with a 50 million dollar lawsuit filed against her a few years after that I believe. You just can't run over your constituents and expect to get away with it.

But maybe the anti-catholic bias is it. Not sure until anon 9:59 posts again.

Lawyer Drops His Lawsuit Against Local Court Officials

By DAVID REYNOLDS
Daily News-Record
June 20, 2005

An attorney in Harrisonburg has withdrawn his lawsuit against Circuit Judge John McGrath, Shenandoah County Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney Todd Gilbert and the Virginia State Bar.

In a suit filed in January, Walter F. Green IV criticized the conduct of McGrath, Gilbert and the state bar during disciplinary proceedings against him.

Green was suspended for 60 days by a bar review board that said he "failed to act diligently" while representing defendants in a drug case.

That suspension is being appealed.

Following that disciplinary hearing, Green filed a complaint with the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia. Green claimed his civil rights were violated and that his career was damaged.

"The relationship with his family and peers has been devastated and he has paid over $50,000 in refunds and office loss," the complaint said.

He said the defendants conspired against him, violating his rights under the Freedom of Information Act and the Privacy Act of 1974.

[...]

Mark Obenshain, a lawyer in Harrisonburg, represented Gilbert in the lawsuit in federal court. Gilbert has immunity, which protects prosecutors from civil suits resulting from their work, Obenshain said.

But he also defended Gilbert on the merits of the case, saying his client didn't break rules of conduct.

"Neither the allegations contained in the suit, nor the facts said Gilbert acted in any capacity other than as an effective prosecutor," Obenshain said.

McGrath could not be reached for comment.

No it'ts not. It's about scandals and it would be interesting to see what NLS says about Hilda's many problems with her campaign and this.

So, what's the latest on Hilda's dirty laundry?
