Dear NLS,

Will Vehrs has been launching brutal, negative attacks on you at Bacon's Rebellion. Do you wish to respond?

I think its a shame that the Virginia Democratic Party Web site has links to Kaine's web site and Deeds' web site but no link to Leslie's web site.

At 2:07 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

They only link to candidates who have a chance of winning

Enough Democrats are upset in the 75th about the results in the racially divisive primary that the Carson Saunders (R-Emporia) could very well win. Current delegate Paul Councill's recent comments in the Tidewater news confirm this. There is no way Tyler could get more than 55%. She got 38% in the primary and supporters of the other canddates are not fond of this one should be more of a Lean D seat or tossup

No. We think some of Will's questions will be answered soon in the exclusive interview we gave this week.

At 2:23 PM, Blogger Not Larry Sabato said...

I didn't call it for her yet not Virgil for exactly that reason. Give me a few more days to gather info, and we will have something up.

That district, coupled with its old-boy Democratic legacy, could make the "D" beside her name on the ballot enough to put Tyler in office. She showed she knew how to run a campaign--beating out not only the incumbent's son, but also a three time loser who spent over $100,000 and being one of two african americans in the race. That district will only go to a Republican if the Dem is under indictment or in jail, regardless of who they are.

Whatever happened with the scandal regarding Matt Lohr from the 46th District?

At 2:53 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Whoever the moron is who posts under every string that ___________ (fill in the name of the Democratic Primary winner here) is unliked by their former opponents' supporters so is vulnerable needs to step back and take a quick look through history.

Primaries are divisive, but contested Generals are uniting forces. No matter how much the people in the primary hated each other, within a few weeks they're all Democrats and they get over it (at least publicly, and at least until the next Primary season).

At 3:08 PM, Blogger Not Virgil Goode said...

The 75th is racially divided. The three white candidates received 56% of the vote and the two back candidates received 44% of the vote. Turnout was almost the highest in the state for a primary 16%. Tyler and her husband are said to be under a longtime Federal investigation and indictments are pending. Louise Lucas even stayed away from her and endorsed another candidate in the race, the 2nd place finisher. To illustrate the divisive nature of the Tyler campaign- her posters were black and represent what the race was all about. This campaign will be a tough one for her, especially if Carson Saunders appeals to moderates.

not virgil goode: are you just a republican activist in the area?

Not Mark Rozell seems to be Brad Davis.

At 3:51 PM, Anonymous Not Levi Levy said...

I think there could be an opening for an Independent running for Lt. Governor. Byrne and Bolling really only appeal to the bases of their parties. A credible independent could get a lot of votes from moderates and independents who feel alienated by both candidates.

Northern Virginia needs to secede. We have about as much in common with the rest of the state as dolphins do with onions.

Not Levi Levy-
I'm pretty sure that the filing date has passed for an Independent. Maybe I am wrong, but
I'm pretty sure they had to have 10,000 signiatures by the primary date.

'Not Larry Sabato' is not your friend. He's not anybody else's, either. He's a meaningless glad-hander. I'd leave him in that category.

His "help" is even limited to "where he can have the most impact." Political impact for or against you. Given that Mr. Shear stands on opposite ends of the spectrum of important Republican issues, his help is nothing conservatives need or even want.

That's the way I read him. That's why conservative bloggers warned Senator Cuccinelli to withdraw.

This is politics.

But I loved Mike Shear's post today, especially the major calculations of the power of conservative 'bloggers' who have threatened to his identity. I'd think those fellows should be pretty self-satisfied just to put the fear of God into somebody like Mark Warner's best boy.

Did you know this roller coaster was an E-Ticket ride when you signed on?

Have a nice ride back to D.C. on the metro.

As far as I'm concerned, VA should give both Alexandria and Arlington back to Washington, DC again. VA should never have taken them back from DC in the first place.

And yes, the E.D. I am referring to comes from the old Bob Dole TV commercial for that product he endorsed.

Today I got an email from Brian Moran, telling me that "In the eleventh hour" the GOP has nominated someone to run against him.

Brian didn't choose to give me any details in his oh so personal mass email, but he did tell me that if I sent money, (the more the better) then he was guaranteed to win! (forget about doorknocking and crap like that, it apparantly doesn't work). Anywho, does anyone know anything about this mystery opponent?

At 5:40 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Last poster:

It's smart for the GOP to nominate someone against Moran, because it forces him to spend a bit of his money on his own race (instead of dispursing it to other candidates).

At 5:43 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

What are you guys talking about "Will Vehrs has been launching brutal negative attacks"? I never saw those. Could you provide a link?

At 5:44 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I keep calling Not Mark Rozell out for being Brad Davis and he keeps ignoring me. Hmmm.

At 6:03 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Give me a break, Not Virgil...

Black and white posters? Could it maybe be that that's CHEAPER rather than being racially divisive?

Tyler will win easily.

At 6:18 PM, Anonymous Freddie said...

Matt Mueda is runing against Brian Moran

At 6:23 PM, Anonymous not audra tafoya said...

Thanks, last poster.

ANon 5:40- mos def! :)

At 6:33 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

This guy Mueda has a great bio - - too bad he's running in Brian Moron's socialist republic of Alexandria.

At 6:44 PM, Anonymous not audra tafoya said...

Hey, give him a call. You never know, if enough people get behind Mueda....

No. Uhuh. Never happening in Alexandria...

At 9:39 PM, Blogger Not Virgil Goode said...

The black and whote poster comment came from Tyler's husband who is on the sussex county board. He said "the campaign was about black and white" and it was "no coincidence that the posters were that color" Also, Black and white posters cost just as much as Blue and white.

Russ Potts - It seems each time The Kilgore camp - says NO to joint debates to include Potts - Russ just continues to get free press and make people wonder why the Kilgore camp keeps saying NO - today on local news - Potts took a shot or two at Kilgore - saying he can't speak without cue cards, and needs time to present his message. So what's up with Potts campaign.

We just embarrass each other; you depise our downhome southern style and we don't care for how yall do anything up North.

So you take the 8th & 11th Congressional Districts, (including the Moran and Davis duos) and we'll 'make do' with the rest of this beautiful Commonwealth!

See ya :-)
