No Cuccinelli Cocktail

We got an email late last night from Senator Ken Cuccinelli letting us know he was going to be cancelling the Cuccinelli cocktail. No more information was in the email. If Ken would like to explain further we'll let him do so here, if not, that's all the information we have for you.

Obviously on that notice we have no GOP replacement for him this week. We have been working on a Democratic replacement for David Englin, and we have interest in a one time column from one legislator who "has some things on their chest". If that comes through today we'll post it as "Not Brian Moran".

I wish ken would crawl back under the rock he came out from under. You don't need his two cents on your blog.

NLS, please put this on the main page. It's Bulova's resume. He's looking for a job. Help him out.

As of June 1, Hilda Barg had more money on hand than the incumbent...113K to 92K...thats impressive...can someone enlighten me as to the dynamics of this House Race? And whose seat was this before Fredrick got it?

She had a Mark Warner fundraiser, that helps, plus I believe she transferred money from her other account.

it was Jack Rollison's seat ... and the district is better suited for Barg. Frederick is going to have to work VERY hard.

I took a look at your resume Mr. "Golden". Looks like you cut and pasted Mr. Bulova's and put your name at the top. Grow up. Next time you decide to try to pull a prank like that pick a better street name then "Poops Head Road". Didn't think I would notice, did you?

Isn't Pope's head road in the 40th?

Barg could win it, but she is going to have to really work for it. The Republicans will be fired up in the fall, as it looks like they have a shot at statewide sweep and, and getting high turnout from Prince William county will be part of their plan. Also, she right now does not seem to be doing much. For example, for a long time her website has not changed.

Also, alot of people who vote for Frederick do so out of party loyalty, regardless of how conservative he may or may not be, and getting a Democrat who can come along to break that line of thinking (that they should always vote for a Republican no matter what) will require someone who is a dynamic, energetic, seen as pretty moderate, and seen as on the right side of a pressing issue. I don't know enough about the race to say that is Barg, but my gut instinct tells me it isn't.

Lastly, I am sorry that Cuccinelli and Englin could not do this, but I understand. Hopefully you can get someone else to do this. On the Democratic side it seems Brian Moran is available, after all he is not recruiting candidates or helping anyone besides Elsie Mosqueda's failed campaign.

jag, stop posting your resume all over the internet. we're all very underwhelmed by your awesome 18 days as a congressional intern.

I'm not publishing this kid's resume, stop hazing him. He's clearly not David Bulova, although that joke was very funny!

The demographics in Hilda's race favor her slightly. The seat has been in Republican hands since 1986 as noted on another thread in this post and that could play a factor into the race.

Her fundraising is actually unimpressive. She transferred 41k from her BOS account and Warner's PAC gave her 15k because he appointed her the nominee. If you look at her reports you can see she has very few individual donors. Most of her donors are developers. Which does not sit well among most voters in PWC.

Her campaign has been non- existent. No one in the district has seen her knocking on doors etc. Her campaign has no focus. She has lukewarm support among the Prince William Democrat has noted on this site before.

Her record has supervisor has not been great on most of the issues in this race. She alienated hispanics many whom have said that they will support whoever runs against her regardless of party. On top of that there was a possible scandal mentioned on this site that could be more serious that Matt Lohr's scandal.

My guess is Frederick wins 53% -47%

Hey golden, is that right? You worked for Moran for only 18 days? Why would you even put that on your resume?
