41st and 42nd District Updates

42nd
Outlook: Leans Republican

From our good old source AlexGOP:

Driving home tonight, guess what I saw on the Englin's front lawn??? Democrat Greg Werkheiser. I walked back to try to listen into the conversation but couldn't hear much without being obvious, so I will just assume they were talking about being pro-partial birth abortion...

Interesting. If Werkheiser is listening to people like Englin we may have to upgrade him.

41st
Outlook: Toss Up

Also, we got a post on another thread in the blog letting us know David Marsden had updated his endorsement list and now had Cathy Belter on his list. Good move by Marsden.

Couple of questions:

1) How many of these endorsements live in this district? I don't know where most of these people live, is there a Fairfax Democrat that can tell us?

2) Since Marsden's campaign apparently reads this blog and listened to our critique, here's another one. If you list an endorsement, list their title and district correctly.

Dick Saslaw has not been a Delegate in over 25 years, he is a Senator.

Toddy Puller has also been a Senator for 6 years. She is not a Delegate.

Brian Moran represents the 46th district, not the 35th.

NLS, looks like Bulova has his resume up on craigslist

NLS, are you stalking David Englin?

I live in Chesterfield. AlexGOP is the one who sends us all these good nuggets.

The last few posts make it seem that NLS has an ax to grind with Dave Marsden....he seems to focus on attacking him whenever he gets a chance

At 10:05 AM, Blogger George Hincapie said...

yea, do you have some personal problem with Dave Marsden?

At 10:10 AM, Blogger Not Larry Sabato said...

I said it was a good move to list Belter. I don't have an axe- I think if you read through all our old posts you would see we would report on ANY candidate that messed up the offices of the people endorsing them.

At 10:22 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Appearance is everything. If Marsden's campaign staff can't even correctly list the titles of elected officials, that's pretty bad. He can have all the endorsements he wants on his list, but that doesn't mean anything if he's not out knocking on doors. He has a lot of catching up to do in the District to surpass Michael Golden.

Something is Fishy here. NLS -- very defensive

At 10:35 AM, Blogger Not Larry Sabato said...

I'm not defensive (except on the Englin v. Moran story).

At 10:38 AM, Anonymous roanoker said...

Didn't look like much of an attack to me - by NLS standards at least! anon sounds defensive to me, what are ya'll working for Dave posting as anonymous?

At 11:32 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

That first post is NOT Bulova

When I began reading NotLarrySabado's blog, like most everyone, I began to wonder who this may be. The more you read it is clearly somebody who does not back up anything he writes with substance, possibly someone bittered from Virginia politics. Which lead me to think maybe a former candidate, possibly someone who the party pushed around, someone without the backbone it takes to run. While this individual claims he is from Chesterfield, he speaks more about Northern Virginia. Then it hit me, somebody who recently was running for office and pressured by the party not to run, and clearly someone who has problems with Marsden. It's none other than NEVADA's own BEN TRIBBETT. That's right, NotLarrySabado is the same Ben Tribbett that got pressured by his own committee into not running, than packed up and moved to NV because he was embarassed. Ben you aren't even a voter in Virginia anymore, MOVE ON!

Someone is spreading this rumor around, and I just want to say I LOVE IT. I really don't have time to keep up with all this stuff back home- but def. appreciate the speculation.

Ben

And now I know why all my friends think bloggers are geeks. Who cares who NLS is? I am still waiting for my Matt Lohr scandal update.

At 1:02 PM, Blogger Not Larry Sabato said...

I (We) might just open a thread for everyone to guess who I (we) am (are). We'll put Ben on the list with all the other wrong guesses.

Seriously people, one of you has to have a registered voter list for Black Heath precinct in Chesterfield (which I have said is where I vote). Can't you look at that and figure it out?!

At 1:16 PM, Anonymous Gabbo said...

David Englin said when he was running he was going to use the safe seat to go help get other Democrats elected, it appears that is what he already doing. Considering his primary victory was only 9 days ago it is good to see him hitting the ground running on this very important project.

It is good for Werkheiser if he talks to Englin. Greg will need a top notch field operation to beat Albo, and that is one area Englin seems very good at and focused on.

As for the comment about partial birth abortion, it seems like the Republicans are already firing up the culture wars. I imagine they will try to paint Greg as some kind of elitist or radical liberal, both of which are rubbish.

maybe northern Virginia is getting covered more because no one is challenging incumbents in most of the state. I can't believe we are letting Griffith walk.

At 2:04 PM, Anonymous no way said...

No way is it tribet.

At 2:23 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Nope. It is Ben Tribbett. The IP Addresses Match Up. Check it out for yourselves. Match Ben Tribbett postings with NotLarrySabato's ... both are Las Vegas, NV. I'll stake anything on this. Unless NLS and BenTribbett are both in Las Vegas. But I think it's Ben.

At 2:30 PM, Blogger John Alexander Golden said...

You dumbasses, that link on Craigslist is ME :-)

At 2:31 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Why on earth would Ben Tribbett take a break from gambling and sunning in NV to focus on the mundane details of VA politics? And how on earth are you looking at IP addresses, anon 2:23?

My guess: you're Michael Shear, or someone else who's been guessed at and you want to throw off suspicion.

Who cares who writes this? I'd rather he/she/they not be outed, because then the good stuff would stop. Thrown in with the rumor and gossip has been some really good information and opinion.

Anybody following the 45th race remember NLS's early postings about what Mandala was going to do with all that money from her boyfriend? Anybody watch as she did EXACTLY what he said she would?

He/she/they has good sources - let's agree to not screw it up by digging too deep into NLS's identity.

At 2:38 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

This sooooooooooooo Tribbett. It now makes perfect sense.

At 2:39 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

One thing I think everyone has learned is that whatever else you can say about Ben-- he knows his stuff..

At 2:45 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

ohh I agree. Ben Does know his stuff. Extremely smart guy. His weakness is his immaturity gets in the way of his intelligence. Which I think characterizes this blog....

Smart and analytical, but also immature.

At 3:01 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

wow - they have you figured out Ben. It's total lie about Ben not having the time to run a blog. Anyone that knows Ben, knows that he can't keep a job for more than 5 months. He's GUILTY AS CHARGED. Get a job Ben, and maybe a LIFE while you're at it.

At 3:04 PM, Blogger George Hincapie said...

Is that Eileen Manning that just posted? If so, you are a bitch!

At 3:10 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Everyone,

go back and read the posts about the 37th District. Definitley Tribbett.

At 3:35 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I'm in. I agree.

At 4:17 PM, Blogger Not Mark Rozell said...

Okay, to the guy who claimed he pulled IP addresses off certain posts and traced them back to Nevada:

1. How did you do that? My tech guys are telling me it's difficult to do. If you can step us through how you got that information off these posts, maybe we'll all be able to know what you know.

2. You must be really good to be able to trace an IP address back to Las Vegas that quickly.

I'm not saying NLS is not Tribbett, but I'd like to see the IP match for myself first.

At 4:29 PM, Blogger John Alexander Golden said...

Actually, if the IP addresses are visable, you can trace them within a matter of seconds online with a WHOIS request. If it's not a big ISP like AOL, you can tell where it's coming from generally...

And I reiterate the fact that the first anonymous is a dumbass for posting my resume as Bulova's. Good job slick :-) And thanks for the publicity! :-)

At 4:32 PM, Anonymous Gabbo said...

Who cares who NLS is or what Ben Tribbett is doing? What matters is the races to decide who will win these seats in the House of Delegates. If you guys want to yack about other crap go somewhere else.

At 5:14 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Who cares who NLS is, I know who the Englin's stalker is. And boy would she be embarrased (and embarrasing to her boss).

At 5:17 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

AlexGOP is a huge bag. He's a proven stalker.

At 5:18 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

She. She is a huge stalker.

At 5:40 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

The reason why is that Ben Tribbett is trying to use this blog in order to advance his agenda. You can't have a source like this one, and trust a source if that source is a political hack who has 100 vendettas.

Why don't you understand that?

At 6:22 PM, Anonymous 'not evan junker' said...

The TROUBLE with Tribbett

Why don't we begin with the main meal, the 1990s YD president petition drive? Which included bogus names, misinformation, disqualified petitions, etc..

Un huh, Ben-diggity? You're good at that!

Later, join me for a cup of coffee with legislative assistant William Blake to discuss your role (the breakup and complete disassociation) with Delegate Chap Petersen as his campaign manager.

Un huh, Ben-diggity? You're good at that!

For dessert in the desert, who's dumb idea was it to wave the Confederate flag and use the race car 'The General Lee' with Ben 'Cooter' Jones as his campaign manager?

Un huh, Ben-diggity? You're good at that!

Did you remove to Nevada because local Democrats and the DPVA preferred a Republican's legislative assistant over you? That's too bad. Please grow up. And move on with your life.

Un huh, Ben-diggity? You're good at that!

Holding political grudges, again, with web log post? There's no need to roll the dice on this table. Those Las Vegas odds are darn high. Maybe, YOU can bet against yourself.

Un huh, Ben-diggity? You're good at that!

I actually was believing this- Ben could totally be doing this. He does know enough to do it. Then I remembered one thing. I'd like everyone posting that says this is Ben to explain this to me.

He works in a casino now. It's one thing to make a comment or two on a blog during the day, but everyone has to admit what NLS is putting out takes a lot of research and talking to people.

You think a casino was letting Ben sit on the phone long distance all day long on primary day blogging and posting gossip? Seriously....

The other thing that tells me it is not Ben is some of the early 6 or 7 am posts from NLS. Anyone who knows him would know that he isn't up at that hour on the EAST coast- let alone the west.

My two cents.

At 7:48 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Got to agree with the last poster. If NLS is multiple people, Ben could def be one of them. There's no way this is all him though. Giving him way too much credit.

At 8:12 PM, Anonymous Simon said...

As a Republican, I am just flat out fascinated with this Ben guy now. Nice to know we aren't the only party that eats our own. And just how funny is it that you go from kind of a candidate to working in a Vegas casino. We could never get away with that on the conservative side.

At 8:22 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

The other problem with it being all or some Ben. NLS has excellent GOP sources. You think the GOP is talking to someone who is such a hatchet liberal that he can't even stand moderate D's???

At 9:36 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Guys, NLS gave you a huge clue...now someone go dredge up the voter list for Black Heath precinct in Chesterfield and go hunt NLS down. At this point, he's like a serial killer. He wants to get caught.

At 9:44 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

OH yes. He'd like us to do that. But he's obviously using some sort of code.

If you add up the number values of "Black Heath" you get 149. Add those together and you get 14. Which is exactly the number of years since Nirvana Nevermind came out.

It's obvious that NLS is Curt Kobain.

At 9:51 PM, Anonymous Dotrice said...

You should really think twice before acting

Actually if it were the same person, they would have the same IP not just the same city. Can you show us these IPs?

Otherwise I'm sticking with Michael Shear as my guess.

At 7:10 AM, Anonymous blunker said...

All those messages claiming to know who NLS is come in packs, looks like 1 or 2 people to me...

At 3:10 PM, Anonymous Mikey said...

First off, if I were to make a guess I'd say NLS works with RPV. His information does seem to slant that way IMO. So, from the looks of things this Ben guy's a lefty, which would rule that out. That and his Vegas location.

Also, you can NOT get IP addresses off of Blogger. Not that I've been able to find. You can off of comments on other blogging software, but not Blogger. So whoever pulled that crap up is full of it (and note how they disappeared with the IP insinuations after being called on it...)

At 1:48 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

NLS might be Sam Penney of RaisingKaine.com....

Just my 2 cents.

At 2:01 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

No, I am certain NLS has hit pubverty.

Bush is forever saying that democracies do not invade other countries and start wars. Well, he did just that. He invaded Iraq, started a war, and killed people. What do you think? What is he doing to us, and what is he doing to the world?
Our country is in debt until forever, we don't have jobs, and we live in fear. We have invaded a country and been responsible for thousands of deaths.
We have lost friends and influenced no one. No wonder most of the world thinks we suck. Thanks to what george bush has done to our country during the past three years, we do!
