41st District Update (5th Hottest)

Current Outlook: Toss Up

Over at Bacon's Rebellion, Phil has a piece on David Marsden. In our opinion, depending how this breaks, this issue is either Marsden's greatest asset or his greatest liability. Our guess is liability, as seen in the recent finance reports when David Marsden as the nominee of his party raised less money then Michael Golden, in a contested primary. The other candidate is 1989 Dillard Challenger Bill Finnerfrock.

Also, sometime since we stopped discussing the 41st District, someone posted about 20 comments on former candidate Brad Davis. If you want to respond to those, click here, so anonymous doesn't have to talk to himself.

What do you all think of the 41st? If Marsden is a Republican, should we just list this race as a "Safe Republican"?

This smells like something cooked up in Richmond (which is to say it stinks)

Hey NotLarry,

I enjoy reading your site, and I have avoided commenting other then to defend myself once, and defend Lindsey Reynolds once. But this is one I have to comment on.

Phil made most of the same points I made during my campaign. In addition, let me also add what Phil forgot, which is Marsden also worked for Gilmore. All that aside, when I dropped out he was going to become the nominee. I was going to endorse him and send him my lists. Until...

Some of you may remember the issue earlier this year when the Democratic Electoral Board fired the Republican Registrar of Fairfax County on a party line vote. Well days after being fired, she showed back up at the electoral board office, as a "citizen" and told people she was representing Marsden. She was there to request my forms and try to get them to investigate me. This is AFTER, AFTER, I dropped out.

This guy Marsden doesn't even have the balls to do it himself. He has to send the disgraced and fired Republican registrar to do it for him.

Finally I will add one more thing about Phil's column. Phil points out he volunteered for Ken Cuccinelli. Well, I pointed that out at a Springfield Dems meeting in January. I knew it, because he had come into my neighborhood to do it! Marsden flat out denied it. So in closing, he's also a liar. Marsden can count himself lucky if I stay neutral until Election Day.

Yes, list it as Safe GOP. 3 GOP choices and no Dems = safe GOP

So, just to clarify my impression of Mr. Rodokanakis's column: Republicans whom he classifies "RINO" don't belong in the Republican Party because they're too liberal. One would think Mr. Rodokanakis and his ilk would be happy such a person would decide to affiliate with the Democrats. Alas, no: they don't belong in the Democratic Party because they're too Republican.

As I've often noted before, there's simply no satisfying the anti-tax faction.

Jaded- You almost nailed that one. Except why would someone work for an anti-taxer like Cuccinelli, then run as a Democrat a year later. It doesn't make sense.

Tribbett was a horrible candidate who had no chance of winning. NLS, you need to ban him from posting on your blog

No one is baned, no matter how bad of a candidate they were.

There's no such thing as a former homosexual. Kinda like being born with red hair..you can bleach it and dye it but the roots remain red.

Nice to see Ben is still stirring the pot. But Ben buddy, you've got to start looking at things in a less personal way. It's not all about Ben all the time. You have many talents and skills to offer that get lost in the noise sometimes.

Kind of a cheap shot Terry, since you didn't respond to anything I said.
